Public Involvement Opportunities
A Notice of Intent (NOI) announcing the initiation of the public scoping period for the EIS was published in the Federal Register on March 25, 2016. The public engagement effort associated with the project began with the issuance of the NOI. Public involvement will continue throughout the duration of the NEPA process ending with the issuance of the Record of Decision. Two meetings supporting the definition of the scope of the EIS have occurred and are detailed below. Dates for future meetings and events will be posted to this page. Public Scoping Meeting
A Public Scoping Meeting was held on April 12, 2016 at 5:00 pm at the UF/IFAS Collier Extension Office Building, 14700 Immokalee Road, Naples, Florida.
Persons attending the Public Scoping Meeting were given the opportunity to provide oral and written comments regarding the scope of the EIS. Links to the meeting transcript and materials that were presented at the meeting are included below.

Inter-Agency Scoping Meeting
In addition to the Public Scoping Meeting, an online inter-agency meeting was held on April 19, 2016 at 10:00 am (Eastern). Agency officials, elected/appointed and Tribal officials and other interested parties were invited to attend the online inter-agency meeting. The NEPA scoping public comment period is now closed. However, the Service invites written comments from all interested parties throughout the NEPA process. Comments may be submitted through this website.
